It is customary to let you know that the mission of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is to set a pace in the field of academic excellence. As a unit of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, K.V No.1 AFS, Gorakhpur leaves no attempt untried to achieve the target set by KVS, under the Ministry of HRD Govt. of India. All round development of an individual is the motto of the Vidyalaya . therefore the curricular & co- curricular activities are given due weightage. The Vidyalaya is having 05 sections from class 1 to 10th & 04 sections in each of class 11 & 12th with Science, Commerce & Humanity streams. More than 2630 students are studying in this Vidyalaya. Total Staff is 92 including Teaching & Non – teaching employee’s.
I. Academics Result of Board Exam – 2009-10:
1. In class X, over all Vidyalaya result was 99.5%. 194 student appeared, 193 students passed.
2. In class XII , over all Vidyalaya result was 85.6%. 144 student appeared, 149 students passed.
Topper of XII Sc was Vivek Gupta with 90%.
Topper of XII Comm was Roshani Thapa with 84%.
Topper of XII Hum was Chandra Bala with 77.4% .
As many as dozen students have qualified for admission to various Professional & Technical colleges including Medical, Engineering & NDA.
II. Science Exhibition:
1. One Children Rishu Tiwari was participated in Jawaharalal Nehru Science Exhibition & she was selected for final level.
2. Regional Level Science Exhibition was held at K V Bailey Road on 25th & 26th Sep 2010. Many students of our Vidyalaya was selected.
III. Social Science Exhibition:
1. Regional Level Social Science Exhibition was held at K V DLW on 04th & 05th Oct 2010. Many students of our Vidyalaya was selected .
IV. Quiz :
Vachaspati Mishra (XI B) & Arunesh Chaturvedi (XI) have won AMAR UJALA QUIZ Contest & will participate for STATE QUIZ for REWARD of RS 40000 & they will represent our Distict / Eastern UP Region.
V. Games & Sports:
1. 04 students were selected for SGFI -2010.
2. 40 students participated in National Level Games & Sports.
3. 01 student were selected for International level Tikando .
4. In Regional level we got 1st position in Foot Ball, Basket Ball Girls, Volley Ball Girls, Long Jump, Sketing, Badminton Girls, Boxing.
5. In Regional level we got 2nd position in Basket Ball Boys, Kho- Kho girls
VI. Infrastructure Development:
Under the direction of KVS HQ & kind Co-operation of the VMC, the Vidyalaya has under taken the below mentioned maintenance & repair works:
1. 3rd computer lab has been developed & equipped with 35 computers, 01 LCD Projector, 02 AC.
2. The Vidyalaya has 24 hours Broad Band Internet connectivity & all the students & teachers have been registered on THINKQUEST.com. project.
